Dan O'Malley

Some people wake up and hit snooze.
I wake up wondering what's going to make you laugh.
For nearly three decades, I've had the privilege of talking to people across North Texas. It started as a Promotions Assistant at 92.5 KZPS before moving into promotions and producing at 103.7 KVIL. Then came the opportunity that changed everything: joining the staff at Live 105.3 in 2002. This is where I co-created the Dan & Tasos Show and, three weeks later, joined the legendary Russ Martin Show.
Since then, I've been lucky enough to wear a lot of hats—from sports radio on 105.3 The Fan (including Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers network broadcasts) to spending 12 unforgettable years at 97.1 The Eagle.
Every stop taught me something.
But the biggest lesson?
Radio has never really been about the radio.
It's about connection.
I love making people laugh. I love challenging conventional thinking. I love creating those moments where you're sitting alone in your car but somehow feel like you're hanging out with friends. The greatest challenge in broadcasting isn't filling hours of airtime—it's making someone who's exhausted, stressed, or headed into a rough day genuinely smile before 9 a.m.
That's the challenge that gets me out of bed every morning.
My favorite compliment isn't, "Great show."
It's when someone tells me, "I was still laughing about something you said when I got to work."
That's the magic.
After 28 years in Dallas-Fort Worth radio, I wanted to build something different. A station that serves listeners instead of shareholders. One with real personalities, real local roots, and music chosen by people who actually love it—not by an algorithm.
That's why we built Rad Radio DFW.
Everything I've learned over the past 28 years—every great moment, every mistake, every lesson—is being poured into this station.
So whether you've been listening to me for years or you just found us today...
Welcome.
Let's make your mornings a little more fun.
